STL Orienteering Club Start Point

The STL Orienteering Club Start Point is a sports venue in Lemay Township, Missouri, dedicated to orienteering—a navigation-based outdoor activity that combines map reading and trail running. Participants use detailed topographic maps and compasses to find checkpoints in wooded or urban areas, testing their ability to move efficiently through varied terrain. The club serves as a central hub for local orienteering events, offering a designated starting point for races and training exercises.

The facility includes wheelchair-accessible parking and a restroom, ensuring basic accessibility for visitors. Orienteering events typically require participants to navigate between marked points, and this location provides a structured entry for those new to the sport or returning competitors. While specific operating hours or contact details aren’t provided, the club’s presence in the area suggests it’s active during organized events, often held on weekends or evenings. Visitors should check the club’s official channels or local event listings for schedules, as orienteering courses may vary in length and difficulty. The venue itself is minimalist, focusing on functionality rather than amenities, so participants should come prepared with appropriate gear, including maps, compasses, and sturdy footwear.
